if i work at the koreatown youth and community center, i will get to tutor kids, maybe accompany the admins to meetings with city govt about the GRYD program, and learn a lot about program analysis/at-risk youth and family issues. their office takes about an hour to get to by bus.

L.A. Works said they’d like me to work with them on homelessness and poverty - which i would love learn more about. with them I’d be in charge of my own projects, organizing volunteers and other resources for the nonprofits that need them. i’d get to research homeless and low-income options available (or, more likely, not available) in our lovely city, homeless capital of the nation, but their office is two hours away by bus.

dunno, i can’t decide!

So far, Shanghai=
-constant diarrhea for the first 2 weeks
-realization that chinese people don’t have a lot of freedom (sucks to live in china)
-apparently college students don’t get to chose their majors, they get tested into their majors..
-karaoke is amazingly cheap, less than 20 bucks for 10 people for two hours
-food is cheap but everything else is relative to us prices

Sophia, are you studying abroad in China? I know they don’t have facebook, I’m surprised you get tumblr. Also, it’s like that in all of Asia… testing in at least. And it sucks that you have diahrrea =/ I’ve never experienced that!
